Africa's Wealth Tied to Electricity and Energy

Energy is the key to Africa's prosperity. And by energy I mean electricity. Africa has the equipment big enough to satisfy its energy needs. Hydroelectricity is by far the biggest source of electricity during there. Nigeria, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire are the largest generators of electricity in West Africa. Nigeria's main sources of energy are petroleum and natural gases. Integrating power sytems would enable countries to own reliable and cheap sources of electricity. However, in Africa, nearly
1.6 billion folks, upwards of 30% of the global population, do not have access to electricity. Lighting Africa is a World Bank Cluster (WBG) initiative that supports the non-public sector to develop, accelerate, and sustain the marketplace for trendy off-grid lighting technologies.
